QV 6 win against Hermes DSV 3

Team 6 won by 22 runs in an exciting match against Hermès DSV 3. We were put into bat after losing the toss and our openers Ashish and Chol got us off to a good start. Ashish played a great knock of 97 holing out in deep cover at the end to miss out on a well deserved century . The first 3 partnerships Ashish had with Chol, Akella and Amitava bought us to a healthy 140/3 after 30 overs and a late innings acceleration pushed us to 217 after 40 overs. Trademark hits down the ground, lusty pulls and savage hitting on the offside marked a really good innings from Ashish.

When the opponents came into bat , Sagar and Chol were breathing fire in their opening spell making the ball swing and bounce reducing the opponents to 18/3. Chol’s and Sagar’s change of pace was delightful . Sagar’s pace and swing and Chol’s disciplined line were strangling the opponents.

A good middle order partnership was broken by Ashish who took two quick wickets and the score was 100/5 which became 113/7 thanks to some great bowling by Ujwal and Rishi and soon became 150/9. Ashish bowls a heavy ball hitting the pitch hard , Ujwal with all his lovely variations and Rishi with a great line and length kept the game well in our control.

A 45 run last wicket partnership which really become annoying dragged the match close but a brilliant run out by Rishi closed the match in our favor. A close match that became too close in the end. There was quite a bit of emotion at the end.

All in all a great way to begin with points on the board for now.
