It was a close game today when the CubZ U10 took on ACC at home.A great start for the CubZ with some good bowling (only 8 wides bowled) and excellent fielding (Great wicketkeeping by all) they restricted ACC to 99 runs taking 5 wickets , including a superb clean bowled middle stump from Yorim and a excellent caught behind by Angel.
ACC kept the bowling very tight and made life difficult for the CubZ, restricting all the batsmen to single figures. They lost only three wickets in the run chase. Unfortunately, the batting was just not good enough on this occaision , CubZ scoring 78 runs.
There are plenty of positives to be taken from this game and lessons to learn. The Bowling is and fielding is getting better and better. The wicketkeeping practice paid off , as only one ball went past for a bye.
Lessons learned, we need to be much more aggressive in our batting, so practise CubZ. We also have to eliminate the silly errors such as overthrows, or not looking at the ball, day dreaming, not chasing after the ball and letting someone else get it. Not backing up. This you CubZ have to work on. The batting the coaches can help you with.
The POSITVE point, the last time the two teams met ACC won very easily, This time it was not easy for them we have improved in leaps and bounds. That CubZ is the way to go.
Cub of the week goes to Vedant, for his batting/ bowling last week and this week.Only losing 6 runs today in his two overs and getting a wicket. Batting he jointly top score with 6 with Angel and Appu but his fielding/ wicketkeeping was what made him stand out today. Doing everything the coach asked of him and implementing what was learned in practice. Well done.
